Small Veneer Pack
10 Sheets of veneer in varying sizes up to 8" x 11". The pack contains
mainly straight grain veneer but has from 2 to 4 pieces with figure (burl or
other grain pattern).
This is a nice pack to get started with as you have several different species
to create marquetry rather than having to buy a large quantity of only one
species.

Sharpened Ruler
This ruler is 12" long with both metric and Imperial calibration. I have
"sharpened" the ruler to make it easier to use while doing marquetry. By
sharpening it the ruler does not move while it is being use, as the sharpened
edge digs into the veneer, holding it in place.

Pattern Approach for Marquetry DVD

This 1 hour DVD shows many examples of how to approach different patterns
when doing marquetry. There is the Sacrificial Method,
Background/Foreground Method, the Component Method and the Inlay Method.
It also covers what tools will be needed and how to use them. Learn the craft knife Window Method and Overlay Method as well as how to glue the project to a substrate using clamps and using a vacuum press.

This 50 minute DVD covers many basic aspects of marquetry; how to choose veneer, creating patterns, how to transfer patterns to the veneer, cutting technique, how to adhere the veneer to a piece of wood and some information on applying a finish to the piece of marquetry.

marquetry. After spending days or weeks on a single piece of marquetry it
