Jane's Speaker Stands

The principal behind these stands is to have as little in contact with the speaker as possible to have optimum sound quality and projection.  I got the idea from Wood Technology.  www.wood-tech.com/standshd.html

I used poplar for the legs and Guatambu (South American hardwood) for the bases.  The whole lot was put together with dowel pins and glue.

The only thing in contact with the speaker is the three pins.  I used soldering iron tips from Radio Shack.  I used three pins instead of four as it is a whole lot easier to level three.  Just drill a hole the size of the tips and pop them in.

The bottom pins are also soldering iron tips, but longer than the top pins to make allowance for the pile of the carpet.  If you are putting the stands on hardwood floors, put a coin under each spike.  This will save your floor but not hinder the purpose of the spikes.

These stands are easy to make and improve the quality of sound.
